The Boston Police Strike
One of the most famous strikes is The Boston Police Strike. Roughly about seventy-five percent of the Boston police force walked away from their jobs wanted more money. Riots and looting erupted all over and the governor Calvin called the National Guard. When the riot was over everyone wanted tog o back to work but Calvin fired all those who went on strike and hired a all new police force. Calvin's protest to his actions was the fact that there is no right to strike if it cause public safety to go downhill. This statement won him a vice presidential candidate in the 1920 election.
